Junior Bach Festival – The home for the Junior Bach Festival series of concerts and events.

The 2025 Junior Bach Festival will take place in March 2025.

The application deadline for the March 2025 Junior Bach Festival HAS BEEN EXTENDED to January 10th, 2025! All written applications must be submitted by January 10th, 2025, and all audio must be submitted by January 10th, 2025. A separate link will be emailed to you where you can upload your audio. Applications after 1/10/2025 will not be considered.

As a reminder, if you are 18 years old you may participate. Once you turn 19, however, you may only participate if you are an accompanist, organist, gambist, harpsichordist, or vocalist.

Jon Nakamatsu’s, 1997 Cliburn Competition Gold Medalist, addresses the audience during the awards ceremony prior to announcing the finalists of the fifth International Piano Competition for Outstanding Amateurs. Mr. Nakamatsu describes not being admitted to Junior Bach when he was ten years old, and speaks about how motivating “losing” can be.
